MISSION
Promoting whole person and community health through services such as:
health and human services, community development, partnership development,
training and empowerment, volunteer management, and agency capacity-building.
PURPOSE
Multicultural and interfaith initiatives which:
• multiply resources by developing networks of partnerships and volunteers,
• provide wholistic health and human services for the underserved and marginalized,
• empower people & grass roots leaders to take responsibility for their communities & families,
• build on the strengths of vulnerable people and communities.
HISTORY
The Center for Faith and Health Initiatives established its charter as a 501(c)(3) in 2000 while providing services under the umbrella of the Institute of Religion. In 2005, the Center became totally independent as a non-profit community health agency. The Center’s team develops and provides services with and through its partner agencies.

• Free Health and Human Services
150,000+ free culturally appropriate health and social services given to 80,000+ different people annually
• Leverage Resources
Donated goods, services, and grant monies for needy neighborhoods and organizations with a monetary value of $5+ million annually
• Systemic Change
Lasting systemic change, such as new social service agencies, senior centers, staff positions in agencies and county health districts, and affordable/HUD housing for seniors and mentally ill
• Leadership Development & Empowerment
Team of 35+ Volunteers in Service to America (VISTAs) trained, stipended, and managed for community partners
• Networks of Volunteers and Partnerships
Volunteer networks which average 70,000+ volunteer hours annually = 35+ full-time staff positions for 20+ community partnerships plus 250+ more mutually beneficial partnerships
